Let’s take the next step in securing affordable access to local healthcare, and better support our talented and dedicated local nurses and doctors. In 2022, Watsonville Community Hospital, which has served our community since 1895, nearly closed, following bankruptcy proceedings brought by the previous, for-profit hospital owners. Luckily, with the help of local leaders and our community, the new non-profit district hospital has been implementing a turnaround plan to put it on a path toward financial sustainability – but more remains to be done to ensure our community has access to affordable, high-quality healthcare.
Our local hospital needs assistance to upgrade and renovate facilities, improve emergency room services, and continue to improve the financial health of the hospital and the wellness of our neighbors.
